Apple Crumb Cake
Comments:
Easy, but cutting up the apples takes a while. From Grandmommys
kitchen. Best if served warm with vanilla ice cream! Makes 8 servings.
Ingredients:
- 6-7 apples (green for
baking), enough to fill 8-inch pan two-thirds full, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon (I usually add a little more)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter
Directions:
Fill an 8-inch square pan two-thirds fill of the peeled sliced apples.
Combine sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.
With fingers, combine flour and brown sugar, crumbling
butter in until well mixed. Spread over apples. Bake at 400 F for 45-50
minutes. ---------------------
